Western Kentucky University Athletics said WKU women’s soccer beat Missouri State 1-0 on Sunday, Oct. 4, at the WKU Soccer Complex in Bowling Green. The CUSA match began at noon Central time, and the win moved the Hilltoppers to 8-1-4 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play, according to the announcement.

Alyvia Walls scored the game-winning goal at 54:36, with assists from Makenna Egan and Danielle Lewin, the university said. WKU led 8-3 in shots in the first half, which ended scoreless, and finished with a 17-5 advantage in shots. Missouri State had one shot on goal, and goalkeeper Mia Riddick made the save during a Bears push in the 82nd minute to preserve the shutout, according to WKU Athletics.

The shutout was WKU’s ninth of the season, the announcement said. Riddick recorded her seventh shutout, tying her for eighth in program history. Lewin’s assist was her fourth of the season, tying for the team and CUSA high.

WKU Athletics said the Hilltoppers’ next match is at Delaware on Sunday, Oct. 11, at noon Central time. The announcement did not specify a venue.
