The Backstory

Owner Doug Doscher, 73, had run the restaurant for 15 years, WNKY reports. According to the station, he had planned the closing for about two years and signed a two-year lease extension in October 2024 to give employees time to prepare. WNKY reports that Doscher said the landlord was not interested in renewing the lease, and that after years of recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic he felt it was time to move on.

What It Means for Bowling Green

WNKY reports that Motor City built its identity on breakfast and a full bar, and that third-shift workers from local plants stopped by for a full meal after work. Residents who used it for early or post-shift meals will need to look elsewhere.
