Western Kentucky University Athletics said the Hilltoppers defeated New Mexico State 2-1 on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the WKU Soccer Complex in Bowling Green, finishing their season undefeated at home for the fourth time in program history. The announcement said WKU’s record moved to 10-1-6 overall and 4-1-2 in Conference USA play.
According to the announcement, WKU took the lead in the 19th minute and New Mexico State equalized early in the second half. The Hilltoppers scored the winning goal with about 10 minutes remaining, and goalkeeper Mia Riddick made a save on the Aggies’ final attempt to secure the win.
WKU Athletics said this was the first time since 2020 that the team finished its home schedule undefeated. The team’s 10 wins rank 10th in program history for a single season, according to the announcement.
The Hilltoppers are scheduled to close out regular-season play at Middle Tennessee on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m. Central time, WKU Athletics said.
