Two big community dates are coming up in Bowling Green: the city's Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 7, and WKU Homecoming, Nov. 12-14.
Veterans Day Parade, Saturday, Nov. 7
The City of Bowling Green's Veterans Parade page lists the 2026 parade for Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m., with the theme "America 250 Let Freedom Ring." The city's page describes the event as free and open to the public.
According to that page, the route begins and ends near Circus Square Park, goes up College Street, turns onto 10th Avenue, then onto State Street, and ends at 6th and State Street. Participants line up at 8:30 a.m. downtown, the city says, and organizers ask that no one throw candy for safety reasons.
A note on dates: the city's 2025 parade ran Nov. 8, according to WBKO. The 2026 date on the city's page is Nov. 7, so use that one. WBKO's 2025 coverage placed a flag raising in the Veterans' Courtyard. For 2026, the city's page lists a Flag Raising Ceremony at the Warren County Courthouse but gives no time, so check ahead with the city.
The Corvette Museum's Vets 'n Vettes page also lists the parade as part of its Nov. 5-7 event.
WKU Homecoming, Nov. 12-14
WKU's Homecoming runs Nov. 12-14 under the theme "Big Red's World Tour," according to a July 31 WBKO report. Highlights named in that report:
- Thursday, Nov. 12: The Hilltopper Excellence Awards, honoring WKU alumni and benefactors and inducting the newest Hall of Distinguished Alumni class.
- Friday, Nov. 13: The evening Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally, per WBKO.
- Saturday, Nov. 14: The Hilltoppers face Jacksonville State at 2:30 p.m. CT at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium, according to WBKO and WKU Athletics' 2026 football release.
