WKU volleyball is unbeaten in Conference USA play and returns to Bowling Green this weekend for a two-match home series against MTSU.
The Hilltoppers swept Jacksonville State in both matches last weekend, according to WKU Athletics. Saturday's 3-0 win, by set scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-13, was WKU's seventh straight victory and fourth consecutive sweep, and moved the team to 12-6 overall and 6-0 in CUSA, per the school's recap. WKU out-killed the Gamecocks 40-26, with Alivia Skidmore's nine kills leading the way.
Sophomore setter Kate Rush, a Georgetown, Ky., native, was named CUSA Setter of the Week on Monday, her fourth such honor this season, WKU Athletics reported. Across the two Jacksonville State matches she totaled 61 assists, 10 kills and four aces. WKU's weekly match notes list Rush as the league's assist leader.
The notes also record a milestone for head coach Travis Hudson: his 816th win, the most by any coach in a single WKU sport, passing former baseball coach Joel Murrie's 815. Hudson is in his 32nd season at WKU.
