WKU tennis opens regional tournament in Cincinnati

Western Kentucky University Athletics said Isabelle Einess and Emily Schut are scheduled for singles and doubles matches Friday at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Cincinnati.

WKU women’s tennis began competition at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Cincinnati on Thursday, Oct. 8, with senior Emily Schut playing singles, Western Kentucky University Athletics announced.

Schut lost to Lipscomb’s Sarah Stoyanov, 6-1, 6-3, in the qualifying draw’s main bracket, according to WKU Athletics. In the qualifying consolation draw, Cincinnati’s Lucia Fuduric defeated Schut, 6-2, 6-4, the announcement said.

WKU’s Isabelle Einess and Schut are scheduled to compete Friday, Oct. 9, the university said. Einess is set to face Indiana’s Nicole Sifuentes at 11:30 a.m. Central in the women’s open singles main draw, according to the announcement.

Einess and Schut are also scheduled to play Cincinnati’s Elizabeth Fauchet and Sara Watanabe in the women’s open doubles main draw at 3:30 p.m. Friday, WKU Athletics said.
