Western Kentucky University Athletics says eligible WKU students can enter to win a $1,000 scholarship at 12 men’s basketball home games in Diddle Arena during the 2026-27 season through the new Hilltopper Assist initiative. The program is supported by a financial commitment from Hilltopper Athletic Foundation donors, according to the announcement.
The first chance to participate is Monday, Nov. 2, when WKU opens its season against Morehead State at E.A. Diddle Arena, with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, the university said.
At least 300 students must attend a qualifying home game for the scholarship drawing to take place, according to WKU Athletics. The winner will be announced during either the under-16 or under-12 media timeout in the second half, the announcement said.
The initiative will not be offered at four home games during winter break: Dec. 16 against Lipscomb, Dec. 28 against Bethel (Tenn.), Jan. 7 against New Mexico State and Jan. 9 against Sam Houston, WKU said.
Season and single-game tickets are on sale for the 2026-27 season, according to the announcement. Men’s basketball season tickets start at $75 per seat, plus an additional Hilltopper Athletic Foundation donation; fans can call 1-800-5-BIGRED or visit the WKU ticket office at Diddle Arena, the university said.
