The Haunted Horsepower 5K Run/Walk is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, at NCM Motorsports Park, according to the race's TrainerDay listing. The listing gives an 8 a.m. start and describes a flat, traffic-free course on pavement built for motorsports.
The listing says the race includes chip timing, a shirt, and overall and age-group awards. A free Kids Dash for children 10 and under is listed, and packet pickup is on race day. Registration prices were not listed in what we found, so check ahead.
Scarecrows at Lost River Cave
Lost River Cave's Scarecrow Trail marked its 14th year in 2025, WBKO reported. Last year the trail was free to walk, open dawn to dusk, at 2818 Nashville Road, per WBKO's fall-events roundup. 2026 dates were not confirmed; check lostrivercave.org before you go.
Pumpkins at Jackson's Orchard

WKU football
The Hilltoppers host Missouri State tonight, Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. CT at Houchens-Smith Stadium, per WBKO's reporting on the revised 2026 schedule. WKU has no game this weekend. Next up is a Wednesday night road game at Sam Houston on Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN2. Homecoming is Nov. 12-14, with Jacksonville State visiting Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m., WBKO reported.
