Western Kentucky's next home game is a Tuesday night one: the Hilltoppers host Delaware on Oct. 27 at Houchens-Smith Stadium in a Conference USA matchup that, per wkusports.com, kicks off at 6 p.m. CT and airs on CBS Sports Network.

What's at Stake

The date exists because of a schedule shuffle. According to wkusports.com and WBKO, CUSA announced a revised 2026 football schedule on April 29 after Louisiana Tech's departure from the league. Under the revised slate, WKU's October weekday games are home against Missouri State on Oct. 8, at Sam Houston on Oct. 14 and home against Delaware on Oct. 27. WKU has already played the Sam Houston date, a 16-3 road win, as the program reported on wkusports.com.

The Hilltoppers and Blue Hens have a recent history. ESPN's box score shows WKU won last year's meeting 27-24 on Oct. 3, 2025, at Delaware Stadium in Newark. Delaware led 17-10 at halftime, and WKU rallied to go up 27-17, per ESPN. Delaware's Nick Minicucci threw for 314 yards that day, ESPN's box score lists. Delaware's own site, bluehens.com, and CUSA's preseason preview present Minicucci as a returning name to watch this fall, so the Hilltoppers' defense will see him again. This will be the second year of Delaware's FBS and CUSA membership, per CUSA.
