BOWLING GREEN, KY – This weekend and beyond, communities across Southern Kentucky—including right here in Bowling Green—are exploding with fall-themed fun. Families and thrill-seekers alike can pick pumpkins, wander corn mazes, attend trunk-or-treats and haunted houses, thanks to a robust calendar of local events.
As autumn sets in, Warren County and surrounding counties are leaning into seasonal celebrations that bring the community together and boost local businesses. According to a recent roundup by WBKO, major highlights include the free “Scarecrow Trail” at Lost River Cave in Bowling Green (open now through Oct. 26) and the “Pumpkin Festival” weekend at Jackson’s Orchard (Oct. 25-26).
The surge in events follows the huge turnout for the downtown Harvest Festival, which saw thousands attend across downtown Bowling Green with more than 300 craft vendors and 70 food vendors.
These festivities aren’t just fun—they’re important for local community vitality, helping families make seasonal memories, supporting local farms and vendors, and giving Bowling Green’s economy a seasonal boost.
“It’s a good opportunity for people that can’t make it on the weekend … and ultimately would prefer a smaller crowd size,” said Jonathan Price, co-owner of Jackson’s Orchard, on their expanded Pumpkin Fest run.
Local parent Maria Henderson (Bowling Green) shared: “We come every year to pick pumpkins and ride the hayride—it’s become our fall tradition.”
Community leader and event volunteer Robert Duncan added: “Events like these help us reconnect as a community, especially in a town like Bowling Green where small business and outdoor fall fun go hand-in-hand.”
