The Bowling Green community is coming together this weekend to honor the nation’s heroes as the annual Veterans Day Parade marches through downtown. The parade will highlight local veterans, patriotic displays, and school marching bands, offering a heartfelt celebration of service and sacrifice.
Bowling Green’s Veterans Day Parade has long been a cherished tradition, bringing together military families, veterans' organizations, schools, and residents. The route will begin near Circus Square Park and continue through the downtown district, where spectators are encouraged to line the streets and show their support.
Local organizations such as the Warren County Veterans Council, veteran support groups, and ROTC programs are expected to participate. The parade serves as a reminder of Bowling Green's strong military ties, including connections to nearby Fort Knox and Fort Campbell.
Residents can stay updated with parade details and downtown routes on the City of Bowling Green official page and through Warren County Veterans Services.
Veterans Day is about remembering the brave men and women who defended our freedoms,” said retired Army Sgt. James Porter, who has participated in the parade for over a decade. “This parade gives our community a chance to say thank you — and that means everything to those who served.”
“We’re encouraging every family to come out,” said Bowling Green Mayor Todd Alcott. “Our veterans have given so much, and this parade is a moment to stand together in gratitude.”
As Bowling Green prepares to wave flags and cheer on local veterans, officials remind residents that Veterans Day is a time for reflection, unity, and gratitude. Whether attending with family or volunteering, community members are encouraged to show their support and appreciation.
